Elizabeth, age 12 Why did King Harald of Norway let Audun go, knowing he would give the treasure of the bear to the enemy of Norway - King Sven of Denmark? Because he knew that King Sven would probably give him a bigger reward than he himself would've given. Tell about a time when you were angry but held back from doing something mean, and then later you were glad you did. When my dad's Bipolar kicked in after he got fired from a job and he tried to kill himself, like four times. The first attempt was trying to drown himself by filling his car with water. The next was when he tried to run his car into a telephine pole. The last one that I heard from my mom was he took a bunch of pills, but he realized his mistake and called 911. Then when I was at his house for Thanksgiving, he had to pay a fine. But that happened last year, and I was pretty mad at him. I wanted to call him and yell at him, but I restrained myself and didn't. Now that I am glad of it. Elizabeth's Comments: It was better then the last one I read.

Svensson, age Why did King Harald of Norway let Audun go, knowing he would give the treasure of the bear to the enemy of Norway - King Sven of Denmark? no comment Tell about a time when you were angry but held back from doing something mean, and then later you were glad you did. no comment Svensson's Comments: Not bad but 'King Sven' would never part with a royal signet ring, especially to a persons previously unknowen to him, even through the gift of a polar bear. Close but not very accurate on that part...

Jenny, age 12 Why did King Harald of Norway let Audun go, knowing he would give the treasure of the bear to the enemy of Norway - King Sven of Denmark? I don't know! Tell about a time when you were angry but held back from doing something mean, and then later you were glad you did. I did not ever do that because then that person might be bad and do something evil right from under my nose. I could have stopped him. They would call me a bad ruler. Jenny's Comments: I thought it was great because King Harald let Audun go even though he was going to give the treasure to his enemy. Peace King Harald!

Erik, age 38 Why did King Harald of Norway let Audun go, knowing he would give the treasure of the bear to the enemy of Norway - King Sven of Denmark? - Tell about a time when you were angry but held back from doing something mean, and then later you were glad you did. - Erik's Comments: loved it, but "King Harold" should read "King Sven" in this passage: "And so Audun lived comfortably at the palace of the King of Denmark for many months, until he remembered that if he was to return to his mother within three years, he had best set sail that spring. So he asked the king permission to take his leave. When his ship was at the wharf and ready to sail, King Harald accompanied him to the harbor."

julia, age 10 Why did King Harald of Norway let Audun go, knowing he would give the treasure of the bear to the enemy of Norway - King Sven of Denmark? I think he was a nice man and didn't want to hurt Audun. Tell about a time when you were angry but held back from doing something mean, and then later you were glad you did. I didn't say somthing mean to my sister when she did something wrong because then we played a fun game. julia's Comments: I think it was good story. I think Audun should have kept the bear as a pet, though.
