Bitterness toward the villagers for forgetting about her and her need for help and food.

Why did the old woman tell the two brothers how to defeat the buffalo, knowing that she would die?

Because they had been consistantly kind to her.

Why did the old woman turn into the murderous buffalo?

The old woman was neglected by the villagers. They did not come to visit her and provide her with food anymore so she is unable to support herself and her granddaughter. She feels that she should be shown respect and it is unfair that her granddaughter is suffering with her and the other villagers are enjoying life, forgetting all about her.

Why did the old woman tell the two brothers how to defeat the buffalo, knowing that she would die?

Kone told them how to defeat the buffalo because she was shown the respect that she was due and therefore she was prepared to die.

Grace's Comments:

This story is really captivating and I was attracted the whole time. I recommend this story to my juniors and seniors as well as this story can teach us that we should show respect for our elders.
