We discussed several themes that we saw in this story. (1) Greediness gets you nowhere. (2) Always be kind to others. (3) Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. (4) Blanche was persistant. So we think that she didn't back down from being the kind person that she was. Believe in yourself. (5) Accept others' differences. Blanche acclepted the old lady just as she was. She didn't laugh at the strange sights that she saw. She did what she was told.
